About the Role
This position will focus on developing novel machine learning models for predicting functional and structural properties of proteins. Initial work will be scoped to follow existing literature with modifications to improve upon the current state of the art models, and create entirely new models. You will be a key player in our early team.

Programming proficiency in Python.
Strong understanding of machine learning and experience coding up models in PyTorch.
Particularly NLP: sequence-to-sequence models such as LSTMs, attention, and transformers.
Familiarity with concepts of representation learning (learning embeddings from sequence data).
Ability to work independently, design experiments, and report findings.
Excellent communicator and operator.
Experience with protein sequence data, and familiarity with machine learning applied to protein structure prediction and design.
Work at the bleeding-edge: We're pushing the boundaries of machine learning for protein design. You'll get to stretch your technical and creative capabilities.
Machine learning focused role: This isn't an analytics or data engineering role. We'll need you to code up new machine learning models, train them, test them, and iterate on a daily basis.
